GasTech was formed in 2005 by Jim Page and George MacLean. One of our customers had been victimized by gas thieves at several locations and asked us for a way to stop it. Like everyone else at the time, we had no answer other than the standard extra pad locks, plate steel bars, etc. We looked into those products and found that they are not as effective as they seem. Adding the limited effectiveness to the image these products present to the customer, we were asked find a better way.

We did extensive research into the various methods that are currently popular amongst thieves, as well as searching for new ways to steal gas from dispensers. We found that this was a much bigger problem than we could have ever imagined. We concluded that the only way to completely protect your dispensers from theft was to watch them 24 hours a day. Obviously, this is not possible.

This was how the Dispenser Sentry came to be. With the idea in hand, we enlisted the help of a long time friend and electronics wizard, and built a test model. We installed this unit at a site in Orlando, FL. Within the first eight weeks the Dispenser Sentry had prevented 5 thefts, had no false alarms, and no reported problems. Not a single gallon of gas was lost or a single dollars worth of damage done to the dispensers.

From there we have improved upon the prototype and are very proud of our full featured Dispenser Sentry.
